Like many high-achievers, I thought perfection was the goal—and failure was a detour to avoid at all costs.

But to my surprise, the real growth in my business didn’t happen when I nailed it all on the first try.

It happened when I gave myself permission to get it wrong—a lot.

Years ago, I launched a program I was certain would take off. I had the content. The strategy. The marketing plan. I’d followed all the “right” steps. But the results?

Crickets.

It stung. I questioned everything—my offer, my message, my intention.

But after a moment of discouragement and frustration, I got curious instead of staying stuck.

• What didn’t work?
• What assumptions did I make?
• What could I try differently?
• Did I really want to do that thing in the first place?
• Was this an ego-based goal or a heart-fueled one?

That reflection changed everything.

The next program? Better. Not perfect—but better. The one after that? A success.

That experience taught me a truth I now live by and teach my clients:

Fail faster. Fail often. Fail always.

Here’s what that really means:

• Fail faster: Don’t sit in indecision. Don’t wait until it’s perfect. Take the leap. The faster you move, the faster you learn.

• Fail often:Each misstep is a data point. It’s feedback, not a verdict. The more often you test and tweak, the closer you get to alignment and traction.

•  Fail always:Growth doesn’t happen in the comfort zone. It happens at the edge of what you don’t know yet. That edge never disappears—and that’s a good thing.

In business, failure isn’t the opposite of success.

It’s the path to it.

So the next time you hold back because something might not work—do it anyway.

And when it doesn’t work? Celebrate. You’re one step closer to what will.
